Five Great Reasons to Hire a Professional Dog Walker
October 6th, 2016 4:27 pm
How much exercise do you think your dog needs?
The best way to make sure that your pooch gets enough exercise is to give them a structured routine of walks, but for many of us, who work full-time, have kids and other responsibilities, it can be tough giving the dog walking the time, care and attention it needs.  Sure, weekends aren’t a problem, but you have to be careful not to overdo it.  If your dog is not conditioned well enough to do a rigorous weekend workout because they have not been used to regular, frequent exercise, this sudden onset of action could create joint damage, and in some cases cause injuries as well.
Hiring a dog walker is fast becoming a popular choice for many, loving pet owners.  There are many reasons why people choose to hire a professional dog walker, here are just a few:

Save Time

If you hire a professional dog walker, your dog can be taken for a walk while you are at work.  Essentially, you are getting something crossed off your to-do list, givin...
Halloween
September 29th, 2016 12:29 pm
With Halloween right around the corner it is time to think about safety for our dogs. This holiday can be very enjoyable as we love to dress up our pets in cool costumes. Most importantly though, you must remember that with all the delicious treats your kids will be coming home with, it can be very dangerous. Our furry friends don't have the ability to do well with chocolates an other candy that will be in their presence. This could be a great time for you to use our dog sitting service to keep your loved ones safe. As Christians we don't partake, but would love to see photos of your dressed up furbabies.

First day of fall
September 22nd, 2016 2:37 pm
Hello everyone and welcome to the first day of fall. Our Las Vegas weather is absolutely amazing right now. With the days feeling shorter as the sun is going down sooner, I would imagine dog walking in Las vegas is very popular. Most dog owners will most likely be visiting the dog parks earlier as the fall season starts bringing us cooler weather. With that said, allow Short Paws to help those who find it difficult to either make time, or are physically unable to take their furbabies dog walking.

Today is the first day of fall to begin dog walking in Las Vegas.
Dog Parks
September 15th, 2016 10:53 am
Bringing your dog to the dog park can be so enjoyable. Their are also great benefits that come from bringing your dog to the park. Socialization is great for every new pup to get familiar with being around other dogs. Excersise is another great benefit as your dog can run off all of his/her energy. I always say a tired dog is a well behaved dog. Another great way to benefit is having Short Paws there doing dog photography for those that want memories to last a lifetime. Me and Alfred frequent the Barkin' Basin Dog Park on North Tenaya Way in Las Vegas. This is a photo from the Barkin' Basin Dog Park in Las Vegas.
Dogs Love To Chew
September 8th, 2016 12:14 pm
So, I have a Boston Terrier, and you could only imagine as a pup how much they enjoy getting into things. He loves bringing inside the house anything he can get his paws on outside in the backyard. So recently a friend recommended that I pick up some bully sticks. Their advice really paid off as he can't seem to get enough of them. I'm so glad he's enjoying them so much that the crap from outside has been reduced. What would we do withoout good friends. Hope all of you are enjoying the great weather as it's a perfect time of year for dog walking in Las Vegas.

Be Kind to your Dogs
August 18th, 2016 2:11 pm
Our dogs are our best friends. They are always pleasing and looking for affection. So many dogs these days are being abused and abandoned. It's our responsibility when choosing to bring a pet into our lives that we have the ability to care for and provide all of their needs. Many dogs go without the basic needs that is required to maintain a balanced lifestyle. That's why I love dog walking so much. It enables my dog a healthy and balanced way to be a dog. After all, our best interest should be the healthiness of our furry friends!

Boston Terriers
August 15th, 2016 10:04 am
Did you know that the Boston Terrier was officially recognized by the AKC in 1893? Boston terriers are generally well balanced small dogs usually weighing no more then 25 pounds. They are famous for their tuxedo like appearence. There are a few different color variations ranging from white and black, brindle, or seal. We at Short Paws love dog sitting Boston Terriers and many other small breed dogs. This is Alfred my Boston Terrier.

August 4th, 2016 12:13 pm
Now finally the weather is going to be cooling down here in Las Vegas. This is a great time of the year to book your appointments with Short Paws. With kids going back to school you might not have the time needed for dog walking. Let us reduce your stress by dog walking or dog sitting your furry friends. Spay and Neuter Your Dogs
July 26th, 2016 3:47 pm
Spaying or neutering your dogs helps to control the population of dogs without homes. Millions of dogs each year are euthanized in the United States alone simply because there aren't enough houses to go around. Not to mention the health and behavioral benefits from spaying and neutering your dogs. Your dog will enjoy a longer and happier life. Your female dog will not be going into heat causing them to urinate more frequently. Your male dogs will be less likely to roam and also less likely to mark their territory. Contact your vet to find out more information on spaying and neutering.
